Senior Earth Observation Engineer

hirify.global operates a growing fleet of spacecraft and develops Earth observation capabilities from payload design through calibration, processing, and imagery delivery.

What you will do

• Derive mission and optical payload requirements with Earth observation customers and define verification techniques.
• Flow requirements to software, hardware, and payload supplier teams while driving supplier development and testing.
• Develop ground and in-orbit test and calibration strategies with AIT and operations teams.
• Define onboard and ground data-processing strategies for customer-ready imagery.
• Support mission CONOPS, integration and test campaigns, launch, in-orbit commissioning, and optical payload business development.
• Own and contribute to the company’s Earth observation roadmap.

Requirements

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a space systems engineer on Earth observation missions.
• Strong familiarity with image quality metrics and geometric, radiometric, and spectral imagery calibration.
• Strong experience with optical payloads.
• At least one year of Python coding experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with a hands-on approach to high-pressure development environments.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of deep learning and artificial neural networks.
• Experience with optics, detector technologies, or optical ground support equipment.
• Knowledge of ADCS, navigation, or flight dynamics.
• International experience.
