Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria; hybrid working from home and the Sofia office

What you will do

• Build, operate, and continuously improve a secure, performant, and cost-effective AWS cloud platform.
• Automate infrastructure deployment and operations using Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and CI/CD tooling.
• Support engineering teams with cloud adoption, migrations, modernisation, and the use of AWS services.
• Manage repositories, deployment assets, platform code, technical documentation, standards, runbooks, and operating procedures.
• Define and support low-level designs, contribute to the cloud roadmap, and provide cloud expertise across engineering teams.
• Triage incidents, problems, and risks, liaise with vendors and partners, and participate in an on-call rota.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating infrastructure and cloud platforms in highly available AWS environments.
• Strong TCP/IP, firewall, and AWS networking knowledge, including AWS CloudWAN, DNS, and AWS Network Firewall.
• Experience with cloud migrations including rehosting, relocating, refactoring, and rearchitecting services into AWS.
• Experience with Git or GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, AMIs, container images, and software artefacts.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation, plus container orchestration experience, preferably Kubernetes.
• Experience delivering systems in security-compliant environments, working in agile teams, managing incidents and changes, and sharing technical knowledge.

Nice to have

• Previous software engineering experience, coding, and automation.
• Experience with enterprise-scale migration and modernisation transformation projects.
