GCP Platform Engineer (Google Cloud)

Location: Bulgaria; work from the European Union region with a work permit required

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and support secure, automated, and scalable Google Cloud environments for clients.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Support GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC, and Cloud Functions.
• Handle support questions, troubleshoot technical issues, and participate in incident response.
• Drive platform observability and health using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, or APM tools.
• Participate in weekly L1–L2 and standby/pager rotations.

Requirements

• Medior-level experience with core GCP services.
• At least 2 years of experience in IT, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering, preferably in an MSP, consulting, or enterprise environment.
• Solid understanding of Terraform fundamentals, including resources, variables, modules, state management, and the CLI.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, scripting in Bash, Python, or Go, Docker, and Kubernetes/GKE concepts.
• Practical experience using AI-powered developer assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Gemini Code Assist.
• Work from the European Union region and a valid work permit are required.

Nice to have

• Experience applying GenAI within the software development lifecycle through structured workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations.
• Interest in agent-based workflows, automation patterns, and AI-augmented development.
