Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Beverly, MA, United States; 100% onsite

Salary: $99,120–$148,680 base salary per year, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus plan and benefits for regular employees working 20+ hours per week.

What you will do

• Review product requirements with software, systems, and hardware engineering teams and ensure complete test coverage.
• Develop, maintain, and execute test plans and cases covering software functionality, system performance, and end-to-end customer scenarios.
• Validate software requirements, installation procedures, system integrations, and customer releases.
• Operate ion implantation equipment and simulation platforms for system-level software validation in laboratory and cleanroom environments.
• Investigate defects by collecting logs and supporting data, assisting with root cause analysis, and verifying corrective actions.
• Document defects, test results, risks, quality metrics, and release-readiness assessments.

Requirements

• Experience with software testing methodologies, defect tracking systems, and test documentation.
• Ability to interpret software requirements and translate them into effective test cases.
• Experience identifying and communicating system-level hardware and software issues.
• Experience with complex electro-mechanical equipment or industrial systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physical sciences, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, ion implantation systems, or semiconductor capital equipment.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and industry practices.
• Familiarity with SECS/GEM factory automation standards.
• Experience with software validation, system integration testing, or customer workflow testing.
• Understanding of hardware/software interactions in industrial control systems.
