TL;DR
Senior Infra Engineer - Full Cycle Retail Robotics Engineering (C#/.NET, ROS, IoT): Building and operating cloud-to-edge software for retail robots and smart shelves with an accent on reliable communication, telemetry, deployment, and real-time device integration. Focus on connecting .NET services with ROS/C++ systems on NVIDIA Jetson devices, designing production deployment pipelines, and solving field reliability and observability challenges across distributed robotic systems.
Location: Tokyo, Japan; hybrid workplace
Salary: ¥7,000,000–¥9,000,000 per year

What you will do
- Develop and maintain C#/.NET backend services and edge agents connecting ROS-based systems with the cloud platform.
- Build telemetry, monitoring, diagnostics, and job-execution systems for robots and smart shelves.
- Design and test deployment pipelines for NVIDIA Jetson AGX and Linux-based devices using Docker, Ansible, Azure Container Registry, and GitHub Actions.
- Integrate cloud services, robot control systems, and vision-processing systems through gRPC, MQTT, WebSocket, and related protocols.
- Support production deployments, incident response, log analysis, root-cause investigations, and reliability improvements.
- Collaborate with backend, robotics, vision, and field operations teams to improve cross-system communication and engineering standards.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years with C#/.NET.
- Ability to read and write production-level C++.
- 3+ years developing applications for real users through release and operation phases.
- 2+ years of experience with embedded systems, edge computing, or IoT devices, preferably on Linux ARM64.
- Experience with Git-based team development, containerized deployments using Docker, and remote provisioning with Ansible.
- Experience with distributed telemetry and monitoring systems, communication protocols, and collaboration with hardware or field operations teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with robotics, computer vision, automation, ROS/ROS2, or retail automation.
- Knowledge of Azure IoT Hub, Azure Container Registry, or related cloud services.
- Experience with real-time performance optimization, device security, and authentication.
- Experience deploying robotics, large-scale IoT systems, or machine learning models on edge devices using TensorRT or ONNX.
