IT Security Analyst (Microsoft Security)

Salary: $83,000–$132,000 per year, plus potential annual incentive and/or long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Monitor Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Sentinel alerts, dashboards, and logs to detect incidents and prioritize vulnerability remediation.
• Manage and optimize Microsoft Defender policies, configurations, and enterprise deployments.
• Use Microsoft Purview for data loss prevention, eDiscovery, compliance enforcement, and sensitive-data protection.
• Develop custom detection rules, alerts, malware defenses, and threat-hunting strategies using Microsoft security platforms.
• Respond to endpoint compromises and other incidents through forensic analysis, containment, eradication, recovery, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Document incidents, analyze threat intelligence, report security metrics, collaborate on infrastructure hardening, and support cybersecurity awareness training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience managing, configuring, and using Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Sentinel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide technical teams through complex situations.
• Must meet U.S. Government technology export and ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% based on business needs.

Nice to have

• Microsoft SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, or SC-400 certification.
• CompTIA Security+, CySA+, SecurityX, GIAC GSEC, or GCIH certification.
• Experience supporting aerospace and defense organizations subject to CMMC in Microsoft 365 GCC High.
• Experience with compliance tracking tools, GRC platforms, and project management tools.
