Senior Backend Engineer - Full Cycle Retail Robotics Engineering

What you will do

• Design, develop, release, operate, measure, and continuously improve backend capabilities for robotic operations management.
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient backend services and agents using C# and .NET.
• Develop cloud-to-edge communication and on-device services connecting robots with cloud systems through gRPC and MQTT.
• Drive technical strategy, architecture decisions, and software engineering standards across the organization.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with business development, operations, hardware, and field teams.
• Build deployment pipelines and support production operations with Docker, Ansible, and related infrastructure tools.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET.
• 3+ years of developing applications for real users, including release and operation phases.
• Experience collaborating in Git-based teams of five or more engineers.
• Experience with containerized deployments using Docker and with gRPC, MQTT, WebSocket, or similar protocols.
• Experience integrating telemetry and monitoring systems for distributed environments; willingness to collaborate with hardware and field operations teams and travel occasionally for on-site support.

Nice to have

• Production-level C++ and experience with Linux-based ARM64 edge or IoT devices.
• Robotics, computer vision, automation, ROS/ROS2, or real-time systems experience.
• Knowledge of Azure IoT Hub, Azure Container Registry, or related cloud services.
• Experience with security and authentication for device communication and production-scale robotics or IoT deployments.
• Experience deploying machine learning models on edge devices using TensorRT or ONNX, or exposure to retail automation and supply chain technology.
