Software Developer - Data Infrastructure (C++)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain C++ microservices for high-performance data storage, retrieval, processing, and analytics.
• Optimize services for performance, scalability, and efficient processing of large datasets.
• Debug software issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of data processing and analytics pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews and write clean, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, quantitative researchers, stakeholders, and support teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with microservices and/or asynchronous multithreaded applications.
• Experience working in a Linux environment.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and learn new technologies.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of databases and SQL, Boost ASIO, and data serialization formats such as Apache Arrow, Parquet, Protocol Buffers, or FlatBuffers.
• Experience with gRPC, HTTP/REST, WebSocket, Google Cloud, AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with highly available distributed systems and large datasets.
• Additional programming experience with Rust, Python, or Q.
