Manager Security Engineer

Location: Remote within Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, or Virginia

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Security Engineering team.
• Define and maintain enterprise security strategies, policies, standards, and controls aligned with ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and GDPR.
• Lead incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management, security monitoring, root cause analysis, and security posture improvements.
• Design and manage SIEM, EDR, firewalls, WAF, IAM, and cloud security controls across AWS and GCP.
• Partner with Engineering, Infrastructure, Product, Legal, HR, and IT to embed security into system design, application development, change management, and risk management.
• Monitor security metrics, support audits, and drive compliance initiatives.

Requirements

• 4+ years of dedicated cybersecurity experience with progressively increasing responsibility and prior people leadership or team management experience.
• Expertise in enterprise security operations, vulnerability management, incident response, network and system architecture, endpoint protection, and IAM.
• Experience securing AWS and/or GCP environments and working with MSSPs.
• Experience implementing ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and GDPR requirements.
• Strong communication skills for presenting security risks and recommendations to technical and executive audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience; participation in an on-call incident response rotation is required.

Nice to have

• Active CISSP, CISM, GSEC, or another recognized cybersecurity certification.
• Experience leading security awareness and phishing simulation programs.
• Experience supporting external security audits and enterprise compliance programs.
