Head of Regulatory Affairs (Japan)

Location: Remote in Japan; listed locations include Osaka and Kyoto.

What you will do

• Lead regulatory affairs initiatives for hirify.global and affiliated entities in Japan.
• Build relationships with policymakers, regulators, central banks, and financial intelligence units.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting crypto assets, stablecoins, communication technology, and AI.
• Represent the company in consultations, workshops, industry roundtables, and regulatory dialogues.
• Prepare briefing papers, comment letters, policy submissions, internal reports, and executive briefings.
• Advise legal, product, compliance, risk, commercial, operations, finance, technology, and business development stakeholders on regulatory risks and opportunities.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of governmental affairs, regulatory affairs, or legal experience, ideally in financial services or the crypto-asset industry in Japan.
• Experience engaging regulators or government bodies and advocating for favourable policy positions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex regulatory topics to non-technical audiences.
• Experience managing stakeholders across borders and time zones.
• Experience with public speaking and representing organisations in regulatory discussions.
• English-speaking ability is required.
