Senior Spacecraft GNC Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements. The role is subject to ITAR and other U.S. Government space technology export regulations.

Base salary: $162,000–$243,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Lead GNC and ADCS development across spacecraft concepts, algorithms, subsystem requirements, detailed design, and integration and testing.
• Mentor engineers responsible for GNC design, modeling, and analysis across LEO, MEO, GEO, lunar, interplanetary, reentry, and RPOD missions.
• Design flight software, algorithms, simulations, and spacecraft autonomy tools for constellation management.
• Select GNC components and define fault detection and response approaches.
• Develop and execute test processes, including hardware-in-the-loop and Monte Carlo simulations.
• Coordinate schedules, milestones, technical status, design reviews, and customer interactions with Systems, Avionics, Flight Software, Mission Operations, and Ground Software teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of industry experience in GNC or ADCS.
• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Direct experience interfacing with aerospace customers in commercial or government sectors.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Experience with spacecraft GNC concepts, flight software, subsystem integration, and testing.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or PhD.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and 2+ years of RPOD design and operations experience.
• Experience with Jira, GNC hardware, blended attitude solutions, spacecraft on-orbit operations, and anomaly resolution.
• Experience mentoring engineers, leading teams across project lifecycles, managing multiple projects, or supporting GNC business development and conceptual design.
