Staff Software Development Engineer (Front End)

Location: Chicago, IL preferred, or New York, NY; work from home on Fridays

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance front-end software in distributed architectures.
• Build reusable components and implement real-time and asynchronous systems.
• Apply event-driven architecture and front-end testing practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering strategies with business and customer needs.
• Present technical concepts and project updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain operational and engineering excellence in large-scale environments.

Requirements

• 15+ years of hands-on software engineering experience focused on architecture and coding.
• Front Office architecture and coding experience, preferably in FinTech.
• Experience with React, React Native, Angular, or another modern front-end framework.
• Strong TypeScript and TypeScript generics experience.
• Experience creating reusable front-end components and using Jest, Cypress, or similar testing libraries.
• Experience with front-end build processes such as Webpack or Rollup, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Containerization and front-end infrastructure knowledge.
• Experience in both FinTech and BigTech environments.
• Deep expertise in AWS, GCP, or Azure and distributed architectures.
• Familiarity with GenAI and AI applications in financial services.
