AI Backend Product Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; onsite 5 days per week

What you will do

• Build and ship product features end to end across the stack.
• Collaborate with product and design to solve customer problems and turn ambiguous ideas into usable features.
• Explore how AI can improve existing workflows and enable new product experiences.
• Prototype with modern AI models and APIs, then turn successful experiments into reliable production features.
• Keep systems fast, reliable, and easy to iterate on.
• Improve development workflows, tooling, and deployment processes, including the use of AI-powered development tools.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience building product-driven software.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as JavaScript/TypeScript or Go, with some Python exposure.
• Experience with web frameworks, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong product instincts and comfort working through ambiguous problems.
• Curiosity, pragmatism, and enthusiasm for building with AI; prior professional AI/ML experience is not required.
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco 5 days per week.
