Focus on authoring architectural specifications, enabling RTL and design verification, and validating hardware against simulation predictions through high-volume production.

Location: Boston, MA or Mountain View, CA, United States; flexible hybrid workplace model

Salary: $146,000–$222,000 USD per year in base salary, plus equity and other rewards.

What you will do

  • Own digital architecture from initial concept through high-volume production.
  • Architect and specify system-level digital designs integrating complex analog, mixed-signal, and photonic circuits.
  • Define architectures for high-speed drivers, receivers, SerDes, ADC/DAC, photonic modulators, and detectors.
  • Collaborate with test and validation engineers to compare hardware results with simulation predictions.
  • Work with RTL and design verification teams on block-level implementation and verification.
  • Author, review, and validate architectural specifications for engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience and a Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Knowledge of power-efficient digital design flows for high-speed analog and mixed-signal electronics.
  • Understanding of digital circuit design for high-speed analog or photonic links, including device bring-up, control, and digital signal processing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for technically complex problems without obvious solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with digital, analog, photonic, software, test, validation, RTL, and verification teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience architecting digital circuits for photonic communication channels.
  • Experience with CAD tools, SPICE simulators, and IBIS-AMI simulators.
  • Programming experience with MATLAB or Python.
  • Data-driven, analytical, process-oriented, and adaptable approach to engineering work.
