Associate Director, SEO

Location: Hybrid role based in New York, United States, with required workplace attendance and in-office work.

Salary: $105,000–$125,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead and mentor organic search managers, set performance goals, and maintain SEO best practices across campaigns.
• Define SEO and Answer Engine Optimization strategies across multiple client accounts, aligning search initiatives with business, revenue, and growth objectives.
• Analyze Google Search Console, GA4, and enterprise SEO platform data to develop strategic recommendations and executive-ready reporting.
• Lead technical SEO programs covering site architecture, Core Web Vitals, mobile optimization, crawl and index health, and advanced schema markup.
• Develop AEO strategies that improve citation potential in AI-generated answers and establish KPIs for brand visibility across major LLM platforms.
• Collaborate with paid media, content, creative, and engineering teams while presenting strategy and performance to senior client stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of progressive SEO experience, including 2–3 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
• Hands-on expertise in technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, link acquisition, and local or multi-location SEO.
• Demonstrated experience with AEO, structured data, and optimizing content for AI-generated citations.
• Strong command of GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, BrightEdge, or comparable platforms.
• Experience leading SEO teams and coordinating cross-functional initiatives, supported by advanced analytical and project management skills.
• Current knowledge of Google algorithm updates, E-E-A-T, Core Web Vitals, AI search, and AI/ML-powered SEO workflows.
