Architect – Azure Data Engineer (Data Quality)

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Design scalable, secure enterprise data platforms and reference architectures on Microsoft Azure.
• Build and optimize large-scale batch and real-time ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure data services.
• Implement lakehouse and data warehouse architectures integrating structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Define data quality standards, automated validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and observability frameworks.
• Support metadata management, data lineage, master data initiatives, governance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Lead architecture reviews, client presentations, technical discussions, and mentoring for junior engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering and cloud architecture, including 4+ years with the Azure Data Platform.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS, Azure SQL Database, Microsoft Purview, Event Hub, Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, and Azure DevOps.
• Strong SQL and Python/PySpark skills, with experience in data modeling, distributed processing, batch and streaming architectures, and Delta Lake/Lakehouse concepts.
• Experience implementing enterprise data quality frameworks, including profiling, validation, reconciliation, anomaly detection, and data governance.
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates, monitoring, logging, and cloud security.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Azure AI Engineer certification.
• Experience with BFSI, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, or CPG domains.
• Exposure to AI/ML data platforms, multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments, Agile delivery, and client-facing consulting.
