Salary: $152,660–$197,258 per year. A California pay range of $165,000–$220,000 USD is also listed.

What you will do
- Lead high-fidelity modeling, simulation architecture, and control-algorithm development for propulsion, guidance, and flight-control systems.
- Conduct controllability, sensitivity, Monte Carlo, performance, and trade studies for dynamic aerospace systems.
- Model solid rocket motor ballistics, propulsion performance, actuation systems, and closed-loop control architectures.
- Develop and deploy estimation techniques and advanced control strategies, including state-space and modern control methods.
- Interface with DoD customers and multidisciplinary GNC, software, systems, and test teams through requirements definition, technical reviews, and milestone deliveries.
- Provide technical oversight, mentor junior engineers, and author modeling reports, test plans, ICDs, and interface specifications.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship or an ITAR-qualifying status is required.
- An active DoD Secret Clearance must be held or obtainable and maintainable.
- 10–15 years of experience in modeling and simulation, control systems, or algorithm development in aerospace or defense.
- Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Deep expertise in dynamic modeling, control-system design, simulation architecture, propulsion performance, and solid rocket motor systems.
- Mastery of MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or equivalent modeling and control tools, plus experience with model verification, validation, and SysML diagrams.
Nice to have
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a related discipline.
- Experience with DoD, MDA, or similar government programs.
