Founding Senior Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build and own end-to-end product features across data models, backend systems, interfaces, and conversational agentic UX.
• Design scalable infrastructure for agent orchestration, memory systems, tool execution pipelines, and autonomous workflows.
• Develop real-time communication infrastructure supporting thousands of customer interactions.
• Build observable, reliable systems for enterprise-scale workloads and own deployment pipelines, monitoring, and incident response.
• Translate customer problems into technical solutions and collaborate with founders, customers, and go-to-market teams.
• Shape engineering practices, technical standards, hiring, and team culture while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience and a demonstrated ability to build and ship full-stack applications.
• Strong fundamentals in backend systems, databases, APIs, and web applications.
• Experience owning complex features or systems from design through deployment.
• Experience building production systems at scale with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Strong technical judgment, pragmatic decision-making, and clear communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time communication systems, voice applications, or telephony.
• Experience with AI/ML product development, agentic systems, or production LLM integrations.
• Background in logistics, operations, or enterprise SaaS.
• Early-stage startup or founding engineer experience.
• Open-source contributions or side projects demonstrating engineering craft.
