ML Research Engineer

Salary: $180K–$350K per year plus equity

hirify.global is an applied AI lab building a large-scale search engine powered by web crawling infrastructure, embedding models, and vector databases.

What you will do

• Train foundational embedding and transformer-based models for web search.
• Create large-scale datasets and analyze data quality for search applications.
• Design and implement novel search architectures in PyTorch.
• Build pre-training and fine-tuning systems, including an RLAIF pipeline for search.
• Develop evaluation systems to measure progress in search quality.
• Improve internal state-of-the-art model performance through experimentation.

Requirements

• Graduate-level machine learning experience or exceptional undergraduate-level expertise.
• Ability to implement a transformer model from scratch in PyTorch.
• Experience or strong interest in creating large-scale datasets and conducting in-depth data analysis.
• Interest in improving access to high-quality knowledge through search.
• Ability to work in person in San Francisco.
