Site Reliability Engineer II (SRE) - Guidewire Cloud Platform (Application)

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and resolve application and distributed-system issues with development teams to reduce customer impact.
• Develop and maintain automated runbooks, monitors, dashboards, and synthetic transactions.
• Monitor and improve application reliability, performance, scalability, and uptime on the hirify.global Cloud Platform.
• Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native approaches.
• Document incidents, improve preventive processes, and reduce manual operational work through software engineering and automation.
• Participate in mandatory on-call rotations, including responses outside regular business hours, on weekends, and during holidays.

Requirements

• Experience in SRE or a similar reliability-focused role.
• Understanding of SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, application performance monitoring, and telemetry.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging distributed systems on cloud infrastructure.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines in Kubernetes or legacy ecosystems.
• Experience with AWS or Kubernetes infrastructure, Terraform, configuration management, GitOps, Puppet, or Ansible.
• Comfort with Linux system administration and programming or scripting in Python, Go, Java, shell, or an equivalent language.

Nice to have

• Interest in SRE or AWS certification.
• Familiarity with SQL, database administration, data pipelines, performance tuning, and schema design.
• Exposure to TeamCity, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Interest in distributed data-processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, or AWS Redshift.
