Engineering Manager - Payments (Fintech)

Location: Brazil, São Paulo office; hybrid with regular in-person collaboration

What you will do

• Lead the Engineering Payments team in Brazil and drive predictable, high-quality delivery across the payments domain.
• Act as the primary payments subject matter expert and advise stakeholders on payment-related initiatives.
• Partner with Finance, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to improve payment operations, reconciliation, and business outcomes.
• Evolve payments strategy, architecture, and systems to support growth and scalability in Brazil.
• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team while participating in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and operational problem-solving.
• Remove blockers and improve engineering processes to help teams execute effectively.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background and experience building scalable systems.
• Deep expertise in payments, including designing, building, and scaling payment systems and related infrastructure.
• Experience leading engineering teams while remaining involved in technical and architectural decisions.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical considerations.
• Fluent English at C1–C2 level required.
• Comfort working in an office-first hybrid environment with regular collaboration at the São Paulo office.
