Platform Engineering Lead (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Based in or willing to be on-site in London, UK with travel across US and EU distributed organization

Salary: £150K – £190K per year, with equity and bonus

hirify.global is a founder-led AI infrastructure startup building a vertically integrated platform for large scale GPU compute infrastructure with offices in London, Palo Alto, and New York.

What you will do

• Lead and grow the EMEA platform engineering teams, owning delivery against the platform roadmap.
• Integrate existing European platform engineers into a local structure and build multiple capability teams.
• Act as deputy to the VP, Platform Engineering, ensuring alignment across US and Europe.
• Lead architecture and design reviews, ensuring operational quality including on-call and incident response.
• Manage the boundary between platform software and hardware, fabric, and site layers.
• Collaborate with security engineering to embed security throughout the development lifecycle.
• Represent platform engineering credibly to customers in the region.

Requirements

• Based in or willing to be on-site in London, UK.
• Proven track record leading software engineering teams of 20+ people across multiple teams.
• Experience reorganizing and integrating existing teams while maintaining engagement.
• Strong engineering leadership with hands-on credibility in architecture and design.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure including virtualization, storage, networking, multi-tenancy, and bare metal.
• Experience with IaaS or cloud platforms at scale, preferably in neocloud, hyperscaler, GPU cloud, or HPC environments.
• Familiarity with technologies such as KVM, QEMU, Ceph, SPDK, BGP, VXLAN, Kubernetes operators, PXE, Flatcar provisioning, Go, Python, and Rust.
• Experience in multi-region engineering organizations and deputizing for senior leaders.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development and scaling agent-assisted workflows.
• Experience leading teams under ISO 27001 or SOC 2 compliance obligations.
