Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Location: Vilnius, Lithuania; Workplace: Hybrid

Salary: From €5,800 gross per month, with flexibility based on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Design and deliver scalable, high-performance backend systems and web scraping solutions.
• Maintain infrastructure processing more than 60PB of monthly data traffic, 300,000+ service requests per second, and 500,000+ Kafka messages per second.
• Improve coding standards and team expertise through mentorship and thorough code reviews.
• Own tasks from discovery through delivery within Agile workflows.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and contribute to product research and new ideas.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Node.js and experience designing high-traffic, scalable solutions.
• Experience leading technical discussions, guiding team members, and establishing engineering best practices.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency with automated unit and end-to-end testing frameworks and testable code.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Lithuanian.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with React and JavaScript for understanding backend visualization.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration.
• Experience leading R&D initiatives or introducing new technologies and AI tools.
