BI Developer (Data Warehouse)

Location: Utrecht and Amsterdam, Netherlands

Type: Temporary project, 12 months with possible extension

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize data warehouse solutions for reporting and analytics.
• Write and tune complex SQL for data processing and transformation.
• Build and maintain star-schema data models and more advanced models when needed.
• Investigate query performance and SQL engine behavior in an enterprise-scale environment.
• Translate business stakeholder needs into working data products.
• Work with business analysts, data engineers, and a product owner while coaching colleagues on BI development and SQL.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a BI Developer, Data Warehouse Developer, or in a closely related role.
• Strong SQL skills, including performance tuning and understanding of SQL engine behavior.
• Solid data modeling experience, including star-schema design.
• Experience with data warehouse environments; Azure Synapse Dedicated SQL Pools are preferred.
• Experience with Git, modern development workflows, and Agile or Scrum in a multidisciplinary team.
• Structured, analytical, and proactive working style.

Nice to have

• Power BI and DAX.
• Tabular Models and SSDT.
• Basic C# knowledge.
• Experience in a large enterprise or financial environment.
