Head of Security & Business AI Applications (AI)

Location: Hybrid, based out of office hubs in San Francisco, New York City, Salt Lake City, or Dublin; in-person collaboration 3 days per week

Salary: $250,000–$300,000 plus equity

What you will do

• Build infrastructure for AI-powered internal tools, LLM automations, internal copilots, and agentic workflows.
• Lead the application security program and partner with engineering on risk identification, secure development, and remediation.
• Own corporate IT infrastructure and operations, including endpoint management, SaaS administration, IT support, and development of the IT team member.
• Own SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and GDPR compliance obligations, including audits, renewals, and cross-functional readiness.
• Develop security policies, access controls, governance frameworks, and third-party risk processes.
• Evaluate and manage the internal technology stack and report security and compliance posture to executive leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in IT, security, or a related technical role, including 3+ years in a leadership position at a scaling technology company.
• Hands-on experience building or deploying AI/LLM-powered internal tools or automations.
• Strong application security fundamentals and the ability to evaluate risk and guide engineering remediation.
• Practical knowledge of GDPR and international data privacy obligations, especially for customer financial data.
• End-to-end ownership of SOC 2 Type II renewals and compliance programs.
• Strong business fluency, including presenting to a board, negotiating vendor contracts, and reviewing penetration tests.
