Senior Data Engineer (AWS): Building and managing scalable batch, real-time, and event-driven data pipelines for Grab’s lending data platform with an accent on AWS services, streaming frameworks, and data lifecycle management. Focus on designing fault-tolerant ETL architectures, establishing data quality and governance controls, and optimizing infrastructure for high availability, low latency, and accurate business metrics.
Location: Full-time onsite work in the Jakarta office, Indonesia

What you will do
- Build and maintain scalable batch, real-time, and event-driven ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, S3, EMR, Kinesis, and MSK.
- Design and deploy data lifecycle frameworks for streaming, API-based, serverless, and batch consumption on the data lake.
- Implement data checks, automated cleansing routines, and governance practices to improve data reliability.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize data platform infrastructure for high availability, low latency, and accurate metric delivery.
- Use internal data platform tools and native AWS technologies to streamline pipeline execution and real-time metric tracking.
- Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to turn real-time data into actionable business definitions.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building scalable, fault-tolerant, mission-critical data pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java, with strong SQL, schema design, and data modeling skills.
- Expertise in Flink, Spark, Trino, Airflow, and Kafka across SQL, NoSQL, and columnar databases.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, EMR, Redshift, Athena, Glue, Kinesis, SNS, SQS, and Lambda.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, or machine learning concepts, plus the ability to communicate updates and resolutions to partners.
