Software Engineer - UI (Vue)

Location: Remote within the USA; final interview on-site in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Candidates must be available during EST business hours.

What you will do

• Transform critical internal claims applications into modern browser-based applications.
• Design, develop, test, debug, document, and maintain enterprise-grade UI applications.
• Build scalable, reusable components and integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and enterprise backend services.
• Implement secure authentication solutions using OAuth and OpenID Connect.
• Drive UI modernization initiatives, establish development best practices, and contribute to application architecture.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to less-experienced developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 3 years of systems and programming experience.
• Experience with information technology concepts, application development methods, standards, and at least one programming language used at BCBST.
• Hands-on experience with Vue.js 3+, TypeScript, Single Page Applications, enterprise UI frameworks such as PrimeVue, and REST API integrations.
• Experience with analysis, design, coding, complex projects, and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Sponsorship is not available; work must be performed from the USA during EST business hours.

• Tailwind CSS and component library design experience.
• Pinia or other state management frameworks.
• Agile development practices and automated testing.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications and using AI-assisted development tools.
