TL;DR
Optimization Engineer (C/C++): Optimizing and benchmarking applications, libraries, and kernels for an energy-efficient programmable processor with an accent on low-level systems programming, hardware/software co-design, and performance-critical code. Location: San Jose, California or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States

Salary: $130,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

hirify.global is developing an energy-efficient general-purpose processor for continuous AI/ML computing in IoT devices.

What you will do

  • Optimize and benchmark applications, libraries, and kernels for Efficient’s programmable processor, the Fabric.
  • Own complex, performance-critical kernel code and push compute performance to the limits of the platform.
  • Work closely with compiler and embedded engineering teams to provide feedback on compiler performance and kernel benchmarks.
  • Contribute to optimized libraries and applications for customer use cases.
  • Analyze and maximize software performance on a dataflow architecture.

Requirements

  • Hands-on software development experience working closely with hardware, including exposure to a RISC, DSP, or GPU platform.
  • Ability to write, debug, and maintain low-level systems code in C/C++.
  • Experience analyzing software performance and collaborating across multiple engineering teams.
  • Active use of AI tools to generate, optimize, and debug code.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and technical communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to have

  • Experience with CUDA, HIP, or other parallel programming models.
  • Exposure to PTX, LLVM IR, MLIR, or similar low-level programming interfaces.
  • Expertise in linear algebra, machine learning, image or video processing, signal or audio processing, SDR, real-time programming, or robotics.
  • Background in performance profiling, benchmark design, or comparative hardware analysis.
