Data Engineer

Location: Fully remote from Estonia, Romania, Spain, Portugal, Poland, or Ukraine; required working-hours overlap with the Riga-based team. An office-based setup in Riga is also available.

Contract: 6 months, full-time, with possible extension subject to project needs.

What you will do

• Own reconciliation deliverables for Accounting, including wallet balances, duplicate and missing transactions, and ERP-to-data-warehouse checks by merchant and currency.
• Investigate data discrepancies raised by Accounting and external auditors, document root causes, and implement traceable corrections.
• Build and extend Snowflake transformations supporting audit deliverables and revenue data warehouse corrections.
• Extend Looker models for merchant-level extraction, reconciliation views, and duplicate detection.
• Work directly with Accounting stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver audit-ready outputs against fixed deadlines.
• Document pipelines, corrections, and edge cases throughout the engagement.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, or 3+ years with strong hands-on experience in financial or transactional data.
• Production experience with Snowflake or an equivalent cloud data warehouse and advanced SQL.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, ledger-style data, revenue, payments, or billing datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver independently after onboarding against externally fixed deadlines.
• Strong written communication and confidence working directly with finance and accounting stakeholders.
• Ability to work remotely from one of the listed countries with working-hours overlap with the Riga-based team.

Nice to have

• Experience with audit processes or audit-adjacent delivery, including documentation discipline and correction traceability.
• Experience developing Looker Explores, views, and LookML models.
• Experience with revenue data warehouses, ERP-adjacent pipelines, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• dbt or comparable transformation-framework experience and Python for data tooling and automation.
• Familiarity with e-commerce or print-on-demand business models.
