Linguistic and Childhood Language Development Specialist (AAC) - French (AAC)

What you will do

• Contribute expertise on French childhood language development.
• Help develop a lexical database organizing words by part of speech and morphological form.
• Evaluate existing lexical data sources and review data for errors and corrections.
• Collaborate with software developers and AAC content experts to define French-specific software features and expected linguistic behavior.
• Review AAC software implementations to ensure French vocabulary, grammar, and syntax support children’s communication needs.

Requirements

• Native French speaker with fluent English.
• Background in linguistics and childhood language development.
• Strong understanding of French grammar, morphology, and complex linguistic concepts.
• Knowledge of research on language development and vocabulary acquisition in typically developing children.
• Conceptual understanding of AAC principles and representation of vocabulary, grammar, and language development in AAC systems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AAC vocabulary organization, content design, or communication support tools for children.
• Experience reviewing lexical resources, language data, or language-focused software products.
