Lead Data Engineer (AWS/Snowflake)

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; travel to hirify.global divisions up to 10% of the time.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for the enterprise data platform engineering team.
• Design, build, and operationalize data engineering solutions for data and analytics platforms and products.
• Architect ETL, ELT, incremental, CDC, and streaming data ingestion across multiple data sources.
• Develop data models, cloud data lakes, and cloud data warehouses while improving data quality, maintainability, and extensibility.
• Implement monitoring, error handling, testing, versioning, code reviews, and CI/CD standards.
• Partner with business users and stakeholders to deliver self-service insights aligned with operational workflows and business strategy.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, transformations, ETL, monitoring, SDLC practices, code reviews, and QA/testing methodologies; 12+ years preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience with AWS services including S3, EC2, EMR, EKS, Glue, Lambda, AppFlow, and CloudWatch; 6+ years preferred.
• Strong experience with Snowflake Data Cloud, virtual warehouse strategies, data sharing, Time Travel, zero-copy cloning, account administration, and role-based access control.
• Experience managing dbt Cloud, multi-repository dbt projects, dbt models, macros, version control, and branching strategies.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, with knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, REST APIs, and data ingestion methods.
• At least 1 year of familiarity with orchestration and scheduling tools such as Prefect or Airflow and with Qlik Replicate.
