Scientific Data Architect (AI/ML)

Location: Tarrytown, New York, United States; on-site. The role requires customer-site engagement a couple of days per week and travel to client sites in the local geographic area.

Salary: $140,000–$240,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and implement extensible, reusable data models for scientific data use cases.
• Translate scientific data workflows into robust solutions on the Tetra Data Platform.
• Build Python-based pipelines, data visualizations, applications, scientific agents, and API integrations with ELN/LIMS software.
• Collaborate with scientific business analysts, customer scientists, applied AI engineers, product managers, and software engineers to develop and deploy AI, ML, mechanistic, statistical, and hybrid models.
• Engage scientific end users and technical stakeholders through discovery meetings, demos, implementation updates, and solution adoption activities.
• Help shape and prioritize the product roadmap by identifying customer pain points and rapidly learning new technologies.

Requirements

• PhD with 4+ years, Master’s with 6+ years, or Bachelor’s with 8+ years of industry experience in life sciences.
• Extensive knowledge of drug discovery, preclinical development, CMC, product quality testing, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Experience defining, designing, prototyping, and implementing cloud-based AI/ML use cases.
• Experience designing scalable data architectures, performing exploratory data analysis, and optimizing workflows.
• Strong collaboration, communication, storytelling, and scientific consulting skills.
• Ability to work on-site and travel to local client sites; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Hybrid dry-lab and wet-lab experience.
• Experience with agentic development tools such as Claude Code and Codex.
