Frontier Industry Advisor Financial Services

Location: Tokyo, Japan; hybrid schedule with 2 days per week in-office

What you will do

• Advise banking and insurance customers in Japan on digital and AI transformation, account planning, and strategic industry priorities.
• Identify customer needs and shape business-value opportunities across banking, payments, lending, risk, compliance, fraud, digital channels, and core banking modernization.
• Lead executive-level conversations that connect Frontier AI, cloud, data, security, and partner capabilities to measurable business outcomes.
• Move customers from isolated AI pilots to governed, scalable, production-ready transformation programs.
• Originate and qualify Forward Deployed Engineering opportunities and coordinate business sponsors, account teams, and engineering crews.
• Collaborate with Microsoft account teams, partners, solution architects, engineering, consulting, legal, compliance, and customer success teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of customer-facing experience in financial services, management consulting, consultative selling, technology, transformation, strategy, or a related field; equivalent experience is accepted.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with banking or insurance transformation and the ability to engage senior business decision makers.
• Working knowledge of cloud, data, AI, automation, security, and modern application capabilities in regulated financial-services environments.
• Fluency in both English and Japanese is required.
• Experience with Asian banking markets and familiarity with Asian or Australian regulatory environments is required or strongly relevant.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of customer-facing financial-services experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 7+ years with a master’s degree.
• Experience identifying or originating Forward Deployed Engineering or embedded-engineering engagements.
• Experience co-building and scaling production-grade AI and agent solutions with customers.
