Chief Control Officer (Fintech)

Location: New York, United States — hybrid or fully remote within the United States

Salary: $330,000–$400,000 USD per year, based on experience and US location

What you will do

• Build and own the first-line risk and control framework across relevant business activities.
• Embed regulatory requirements, policies, and identified risks into practical controls with clear ownership and accountability.
• Establish control monitoring and testing, assess weaknesses, drive remediation, and report on effectiveness.
• Develop the control framework for fiduciary, custody, and other regulated financial services activities.
• Partner with business leaders, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Internal Audit across the three lines of defence.
• Build scalable governance, reporting, systems, procedures, and operating cadences for a growing financial services business.

Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant experience in US banking or regulated financial services.
• Significant leadership experience in first-line risk, business controls, operational risk, or a comparable control function.
• Hands-on experience designing and improving control frameworks covering risk assessments, monitoring, testing, issue management, remediation, and governance.
• Deep knowledge of US banking regulation and supervisory expectations.
• Meaningful experience with fiduciary, trust, custody, transaction services, or closely related banking activities.
• Experience establishing first-line ownership and partnering with senior stakeholders in a high-ambiguity, fast-scaling environment.
