Backend Engineer (experienced, permanent contract)

Location: Valbonne, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. On-site or hybrid work; full remote is not available.

What you will do

• Work in an agile Scrum team to deliver user stories in a startup-like environment.
• Analyze specifications, define user requirements, and design technical solutions for new and existing software.
• Develop backend software according to Amadeus standards, including database modeling and implementation.
• Perform unit, package, performance, and validation testing while maintaining software quality.
• Debug existing customer solutions in collaboration with Product Management and Product Definition Analysts.
• Prepare software documentation and support product finalization.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of C++ and/or Java.
• Experience with REST, JSON, XML, and EDIFACT.
• Experience working with Agile Scrum.
• Written and spoken English required.
• Ability to work on site or in a hybrid arrangement in Valbonne, France.
• Permanent, full-time employment.

Nice to have

• Cloud experience with Azure.
• Experience with Bash, Jenkins, CI/CD, GoogleTest and Mock.
• Knowledge of Unix, OpenShift, Artifactory, Prometheus, Docker, BitBucket, Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Kafka, JMeter, Swagger, and Postman.
• Experience with Oracle or Couchbase.
