Data Engineering Lead

What you will do

• Set the architectural direction for a data platform serving analytics, product engineering, and AI/ML use cases.
• Design dbt models, semantic layers, validation, lineage, testing, and documentation standards.
• Own orchestration and observability in Dagster and scale the onboarding of new data sources.
• Build self-serve and AI-enabled analytics through semantic models, agentic workflows, and the BI layer.
• Develop historical and low-latency data foundations for predictive and real-time use cases.
• Keep the platform reliable, performant, cost-effective, and compliant while collaborating with Data, ML, Platform, and Product Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Deep, hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt, including modelling, semantic layers, testing, performance, and cost tuning.
• Production experience with Dagster or a similar orchestrator such as Airflow or Prefect, including dependent workloads, partial failures, and observability.
• Experience with modern cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, containerised workloads, and Terraform.
• Strong SQL and Python skills for pipelines, services, and automation.
• Software engineering discipline across CI/CD, testing, code review, incident response, cost management, and data privacy.
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly and build trust with stakeholders.
