What you will do
- Provide technical and operational support to facilities teams across multiple multifamily communities.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, work orders, unit turns, repairs, inspections, audits, and operational improvements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, elevator, generator, access control, and fire and life safety systems.
- Manage vendors, contractors, service contracts, bids, performance reviews, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, repair-versus-replace decisions, and maintenance expense management.
- Coach onsite facilities teams, support hiring and training, and report operational metrics and recommendations to leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of facilities, engineering, or maintenance leadership experience in multifamily, hospitality, commercial real estate, or a related industry.
- Experience overseeing operations across multiple properties or locations.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, elevators, and fire and life safety systems.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, NFPA codes, and applicable building and life safety regulations.
- Experience managing third-party vendors, service contracts, budgets, and maintenance expenditures.
- Experience with Yardi or a similar property management platform and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned portfolio.
