Associate Design Director (Motion Design)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts; office-first organization

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual bonus plan.

What you will do

• Develop strong creative concepts and execute motion and visual design across digital ads, billboards, websites, video, print, social media, and other platforms.
• Lead projects from concept through execution across different formats, screen sizes, and audience experiences.
• Work closely with the Design Director to build team capabilities and set a high standard for creative work.
• Provide creative direction, feedback, and expertise to support designers’ professional development.
• Present creative concepts to clients, understand business goals, incorporate feedback, and align integrated teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of agency or similar fast-paced creative experience.
• Exceptional visual and motion design skills with a portfolio demonstrating motion, visual storytelling, typography, composition, and craft.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly After Effects, with the ability to establish technical standards and best practices.
• Strong creative judgment and client-facing communication skills.
• Collaborative leadership experience that builds trust, strengthens teams, and raises the creative bar.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for at least three years.

Nice to have

• Experience with Premiere Pro, Cinema 4D, and/or Blender.
