Test Automation Engineer (Python/Java)

Location: Cluj-Napoca, Romania; office work required three days per week

hirify.global is building a dedicated Testing Chapter for a long-term modernization program with a global financial markets infrastructure provider.

What you will do

• Build and maintain automated suites for functional, regression, and integration testing of backend services and APIs.
• Validate REST APIs, Kafka-based event pipelines, and WebSocket feeds.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and own build failure triage.
• Write SQL queries to verify database states after business operations.
• Collaborate with developers during feature development and participate in squad ceremonies.
• Contribute to quality dashboards, defect trend reporting, and release confidence metrics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software testing experience with a strong focus on automation.
• Programming experience with Python and Pytest/Requests or Java and REST Assured/JUnit/TestNG.
• Experience testing REST APIs, including contract validation, schema checks, and negative path coverage.
• SQL experience for backend data validation.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Proficient English at B2+ level and availability to work from the office three days per week.

Nice to have

• Kafka consumer testing or WebSocket validation experience.
• Experience with TestRail or equivalent test management tools.
• Experience using AI-assisted testing tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Financial services or enterprise domain knowledge.
