TL;DR
AI Systems Software Engineer - Neuromorphic Computing (C/C++/Python): Developing and validating product-grade systems software for neuromorphic accelerators, spanning device interfaces, operating-system integration, runtime APIs, simulation environments, and AI application frameworks with an accent on hardware-software integration and performance-critical systems. Focus on designing drivers and runtimes, building profiling and validation tools, and solving functional and performance issues across hardware, operating system, and application boundaries.

Location: US, Oregon, Hillsboro. Hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

Annual salary: $128,880–$211,200 USD.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and validate systems software for neuromorphic accelerator platforms.
  • Build device-driver interfaces, operating-system integrations, runtime APIs, and simulation environments.
  • Investigate functional and performance issues across drivers, runtimes, and applications.
  • Develop profiling, debugging, benchmarking, and validation tools.
  • Collaborate with hardware, architecture, operating-system, and application teams on next-generation platform features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and validating production software for GPUs, AI accelerators, embedded devices, or other hardware platforms.
  • 5+ years of production software development experience in C or C++ and Python.
  • Experience working across hardware, operating system, driver, runtime, and application boundaries.
  • Experience with code reviews, profiling, benchmarking, regression testing, build and toolchain practices, and CI/CD.

Nice to have

  • Postgraduate degree in a related engineering or computer science field.
  • Experience with Linux device drivers, hardware abstraction layers, low-level runtime libraries, LLVM, oneAPI, OpenCL, SYCL, or CUDA.
  • Experience with hardware validation, profiling, debugging, tracing, performance modeling, or simulator development.
  • Experience with robotics, edge AI, real-time systems, ROS 2, or AI frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, ONNX, OpenVINO, or IREE.
