Offensive Security Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote, United States; must be authorized to work and reside in the United States. Quarterly travel is required for in-person company events and other meetings.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 base salary annually, commensurate with experience.

SpecterOps provides offensive security consulting, adversary simulation, training, and security research services for large commercial enterprises.

What you will do

• Plan and conduct red team assessments, penetration tests, offensive maturity assessments, web application tests, and specialty security assessments.
• Communicate findings, attack paths, recommendations, and strategy through technical reports, presentations, and executive briefings.
• Build scripts, tools, and methodologies to improve offensive security services.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in areas such as initial access, OSINT, adversary tradecraft, Windows/Linux/macOS operations, evasion, or technical capability development.
• Scope and manage client engagements from kickoff through remediation while coordinating with clients, team leads, and consultants.
• Develop and deliver training on adversary TTPs and tools, and mentor less experienced staff.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work and reside in the United States; immigration visa sponsorship is not currently available.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, averaging up to 25% annually.
• Working knowledge of offensive security concepts, assessments, security principles, policies, and industry best practices.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Linux/Unix-based systems, networking, and Active Directory.
• Programming or scripting experience with languages such as C#/.NET, C++, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Strong technical writing, communication, client-management, project-management, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• Experience with large enterprise or federal government security assessments.
• Public contributions such as conference presentations, blog posts, white papers, or open-source tools.
• Experience administering, attacking, or defending Windows/Active Directory, Linux, or macOS environments.
• Experience in information security consulting, technical writing, or technical training delivery.
