VP, Authentication Services (Cybersecurity)

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States; hybrid work with required commuting to the nearest hirify.global Hub for regular in-person meetings, training, and culture events. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $155,000–$260,000 USD annual, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Own the workforce authentication strategy, product roadmap, and user experience for core authentication services.
• Lead the architecture, scaling, and operation of high-throughput, highly available SSO, MFA, and passwordless pipelines.
• Design secure authentication patterns, zero-trust reference architectures, and cryptographic policy playbooks.
• Direct a distributed engineering and infrastructure operations organization responsible for 24/7 availability, configuration management, incident response, and business continuity.
• Oversee authentication and authorization integrations across mission-critical enterprise applications.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders on product strategy, governance, risk metrics, compliance, and investment prioritization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another technical STEM discipline, or a high school diploma/GED with 15+ years of enterprise IT engineering experience.
• At least 10 years of enterprise IT engineering experience, including 5+ years designing, scaling, and operating Okta Identity Cloud solutions.
• At least 5 years leading and scaling distributed, cross-functional engineering and infrastructure operations teams.
• Expert knowledge of SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, WS-Fed, and SCIM provisioning.
• Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.
• U.S. work authorization is required, and employment visa sponsorship is not offered.

Nice to have

• Experience building and managing 24/7 enterprise-scale authentication services and customer-facing infrastructure.
• Scrum Product Owner experience within the Scaled Agile Framework.
• Knowledge of NIST, FFIEC, and PCI authentication standards.
• Experience deploying complex projects across multiple business units and control functions.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, SailPoint IdentityIQ, Entra ID, and Active Directory.
