Veterinary Technician III

What you will do

• Provide high-level veterinary medical care and support the practice team.
• Deliver patient care including blood transfusions, oxygen cage treatment, cardiac monitoring, dentistry, wound care, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring for unstable or high-risk patients.
• Train and mentor team members, manage inventory needs, and handle client complaints.
• Communicate patient updates to veterinarians and colleagues across in-practice, referral, and home-care settings.
• Use the practice information management system as an administrative super-user and support other team members with the technology.
• Maintain controlled substance logs, follow pharmacy procedures and practice standards, and clean workspaces after patient or laboratory-sample interactions.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program; current licensure is preferred.
• Ability to complete the Veterinary Technician III skills checklist.
• 5+ years of veterinary technician experience in practice is preferred.
• Strong client communication skills and compassion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, observational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-starting environment and meet physical requirements including standing or walking for up to 80% of a shift and lifting up to 70 pounds with assistance.
