E01-J01 Joint Forces Operations Planner

Supports government and contractor teams evaluating legacy architectures and new technologies against evolving joint mission objectives.

What you will do

• Support the development and execution of mission engineering studies, wargames, and tabletop exercises focused on multi-domain joint forces.
• Analyze dynamic targeting, integrated air defense system penetration, long-range strike employment, Electronic Warfare, and JADC2 concepts.
• Advise on threat actors and their potential impact on military operations.
• Develop CONOPs, CONEMPs, mission-success metrics, and analyses of integrated multi-service operational activities.
• Coordinate with warfighters, the Joint Staff, Service Intelligence Centers, PACOM, and J5/J3 staffs.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Management Science, or Physics.
• 7 years of operations research experience focused on mission engineering, systems engineering, or operational analysis.
• 5 years of experience with mission planning and analysis, including OPLANs, CONOPs, CONEMPs, mission threads, and defense systems.
• Experience with modeling, simulation, and analysis techniques in defense contexts.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, operational planning, Joint Staff, Combatant Command, Military Service, Intelligence Community, or Office of the Secretary of Defense organizations.

Nice to have

• Joint or Service Staff, Combatant Command, Joint Staff J5/J3, or Operations Center experience.
• Strategic writing experience, including CONOPs, CONEMPs, and intelligence threat briefs.
• Knowledge of DoD and USIC doctrine, Integrated Fires, Future Force Design, and domains such as long-range fires, space, maritime operations, air superiority, Electronic/Cyber Warfare, or logistics.
• Experience with MBSE, modeling and simulation, force presentation, readiness reporting, JSCP, GFMAP, or major staff exercises.
• Advanced warfare planning education or previous SAP experience.
