Senior Platform Engineer (AI Platform)

Location: Remote within the United States, Washington, excluding Seattle. Remote applicants are not considered from Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nebraska, Montana, New Hampshire, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia.

Salary: $168,800–$236,300 annually, plus eligibility for long-term incentive awards.

What you will do

• Build end-to-end AI features using retrieval, context engineering, structured outputs, tool calling, and evaluation harnesses.
• Design and operate multi-agent and multi-step workflows with task decomposition, routing, state, memory, retries, fallbacks, human checkpoints, and guardrails.
• Operate non-deterministic AI systems using tracing, CI evaluations, prompt and model versioning, token and latency budgets, model routing, and cost controls.
• Own the ECS container platform, including service definitions, autoscaling, blue/green deployments, and orchestration of services and asynchronous workers.
• Architect AWS event-driven and serverless infrastructure with Lambda, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, IAM, networking, and infrastructure as code.
• Extend the production PHP application and improve MySQL/Aurora performance through schema design, indexing, replication, migrations, and query optimization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and operating production software at scale.
• Hands-on experience shipping LLM-backed features, including agent orchestration, RAG, evaluation, and operational monitoring.
• Strong PHP 8.x skills in a mature, high-traffic codebase.
• Deep AWS architecture experience with ECS, Terraform or CDK, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
• Expert relational database skills with MySQL and/or Aurora, including execution-plan analysis and performance optimization.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, API design, observability, application security, written communication, and technical tradeoffs.

Nice to have

• Go, MCP or comparable agent-tooling standards, vector search, and embedding pipelines.
• Kubernetes, document and image extraction pipelines, or experience in real estate, proptech, or field services.
