Robotics Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to work on-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $164,000 – $264,000

What you will do

• Engineer controls for robotics in the data center, including motion, safety, and facility system integration.
• Own the robot control stack integration, covering fleet management, task dispatch, and telemetry.
• Design safety architecture, including zones, interlocks, and functional safety for human-robot collaboration.
• Commission robotic systems at sites and ensure they meet strict availability targets.
• Debug and optimize systems across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Requirements

• Proven experience engineering controls for robotic or automated systems in production.
• Experience implementing functional safety around robots, including risk assessments and safety PLCs.
• Ability to integrate robot fleets with external systems.
• Must be able to work on-site and perform commissioning and debugging in a data center environment.
• Focus on maintaining high availability and performance metrics rather than just prototyping.

Nice to have

• Experience with ROS or fleet management platforms.
• Familiarity with AMR platforms.
• Knowledge of robot safety standards such as ISO 10218 or ISO 3691-4.
• Experience working in data center environments.
