Head of Engineering Programmes and Accreditation (Engineering)

What you will do

• Lead the academic and operational delivery of the Engineering programme portfolio in line with OfS B conditions, college regulations, partner university requirements, and professional accreditation standards.
• Manage Programme Leaders, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers, and Associate Lecturers, including recruitment, induction, objectives, development plans, performance appraisal, and workload allocation.
• Oversee curriculum development, teaching, assessment, marking, moderation, examination boards, programme committees, and staff-student liaison activities.
• Coordinate programme changes, validation, periodic review, re-approval, annual monitoring, action plans, and responses to external examiners and accreditation bodies.
• Ensure appropriate student induction, registration, attendance monitoring, engagement support, and resolution of programme-related student queries.
• Maintain suitable engineering learning resources, including laboratories, workshops, software, library resources, and opportunities for research and scholarship.

Requirements

• Experience managing higher education academic programmes, preferably in the UK.
• Experience teaching, developing curricula, and managing and enhancing quality in a UK higher education environment.
• Experience leading or supporting Engineering programme accreditation or re-accreditation with IMechE, IET, or a comparable Engineering Council-licensed institution under AHEP4.
• Experience with curriculum and learning-outcome mapping, accreditation evidence, accreditation visits, and subsequent action plans.
• Master’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline and Senior Fellowship of Advance HE, or willingness to achieve it within 12 months.
• Ability to work at different college premises and campuses, with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends; right-to-work verification is required.
