Platform Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA; Austin, TX; New York, NY; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $224,000–$279,000 estimated base salary per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Design and build CMDB, asset management, and DCIM platforms for infrastructure assets, network topology, rack operations, GPU deployment, and data center workflows.
• Develop asset lifecycle systems covering receiving, racking, inventory, break-fix, and decommissioning.
• Build monitoring and observability platforms integrating telemetry from BMS, EPMS, and IT devices with intelligent alerting and incident management.
• Create self-service portals, workflow orchestration, and automation for region bootstrap, day-2 operations, and fleet-scale management.
• Develop digital twin visualizations, operational dashboards, and integration layers for vendors and third-party systems.
• Own projects end-to-end while contributing to architecture reviews, build-versus-buy decisions, technical standards, and operational readiness.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience building production systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages, with experience in system design, RESTful APIs, data models, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, Linux/Unix environments, and networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP.
• Experience with CMDB or asset management platforms, infrastructure automation, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with attention to scalability, reliability, and operational concerns.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Temporal, Airflow, or Camunda.
• Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, time-series databases, and data visualization.
• Understanding of ITIL and service management practices.
• Experience in data center operations, facilities management, or physical infrastructure.
• Open-source infrastructure contributions and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
