Senior Data Management Lead (AI)

Location: Amherst, New York, United States. Hybrid work is required 4 days within the M&T footprint, with potential for remote work outside the M&T footprint. Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must already be able to secure and maintain U.S. work authorization without company sponsorship.

Salary: $123,600–$206,000 annual USD.

M&T Bank’s Wilmington Trust Institutional Services division is growing its data management, operational improvement, governance, and digital transformation programs.

What you will do

• Execute the Data Management Strategy and develop frameworks, policies, and standards for the assigned business.
• Implement the Data Management Program and provide training to business and technology personnel.
• Act as Data Steward, facilitate data management working groups, and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders.
• Identify critical data elements, capture metadata, and monitor enterprise-wide data quality KPIs and KRIs.
• Facilitate remediation of data management issues and promote the use of data management and business intelligence tools.
• Analyze large datasets to generate business insights while maintaining risk, regulatory, audit, and internal control standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience including 7 years of professional experience.
• At least 5 years of financial services experience.
• Strong SQL programming, analytical, communication, persuasion, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and working with spreadsheets, graphing, presentations, and financial models.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with data governance, risk, and regulatory standards.
• Must be able to work within the stated U.S. location and work authorization requirements without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree and 10 or more years of professional experience.
• Corporate trust experience and knowledge of bank products, systems, workflows, and data management practices.
• Process improvement, business process management, logical data modeling, and advanced SQL experience.
• Experience with Alteryx and AI applications in data.
