Staff Software Engineer (Data/AI)

Location: Hybrid, with in-office collaboration expected more than 10 days per month according to manager and team needs.

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for the Caspian Data Platform, hirify.global’s centralized lakehouse supporting analytics, financial reporting, product intelligence, and data-driven operations.
• Design and build core platform capabilities for ingestion, transformation, governance, and data quality.
• Define reference architectures and engineering patterns for Databricks pipelines while shipping production flows and prototypes.
• Establish data contracts, lineage, validation frameworks, and quality standards through implementation and code review.
• Lead complex multi-quarter initiatives and develop AI capabilities for pipeline operations, automated transformations, and conversational analytics.
• Raise engineering standards and mentor senior engineers toward greater ownership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of data engineering experience architecting and operating large-scale data platforms while remaining hands-on.
• Deep expertise in Databricks, including Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and Spark.
• Production experience with ingestion, transformation, governance, and data quality.
• Expertise in SQL and Python for data modeling, transformation, and platform tooling.
• Strong AWS experience operating data systems at scale.
• Experience applying AI tooling to data engineering workflows, including agentic systems, LLM integrations, or conversational analytics.
